Natural BirthWorks is your birth center and your natural birth community. It began when Sandra and Gelena had a strong desire for a more natural and holistic approach to their health and lifestyle. The seed was then planted to help provide this natural way of life easily to others in the community. This is how our cottage, our sanctuary, was born.

Working with a Midwife is a specialized and intimate part of pregnancy and allows you to see and enjoy the magic that birth is meant to be. Low-risk women statistically have a better outcome when receiving care from a Licensed Midwife. In our birth center, our midwives will follow the Midwifery Model of Care:

The Midwives Model of Care™ is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life events. The Midwives Model of Care includes:

monitoring the physical, psychological and social well-being of the mother throughout the childbearing cycle
providing the mother with individualized education, counseling, and prenatal care, continuous hands-on assistance during labor and delivery, and postpartum support
minimizing technological interventions and;
identifying and referring women who require obstetrical attention
The application of this model has been proven to reduce to incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section. The Midwives Model of Care definition above is Copyright © 1996-2001, Midwifery Task Force, All Rights Reserved.

Olga Proskuryakova (doula)

My name is Olga Proskuryakova. Originally I am from Russia, I know Russian language and culture. In my native country people believe in women`s power to give birth so this is very natural for me. I am a mom so I know what woman may experience from inside at the time of childbirth. Being a doula is a blessing for me and I take it as a mission. My job is to support women emotionally and physically and of course, to provide the information of any aspects of the pregnancy and birth.
I was trained as a doula in a very famous worldwide organization called CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) in the USA. A lot of trainin and seminars were attended, many books and articles were read, so I became Certified Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator. Then I took up a status of a Midwife Assistant.
I do different kinds of birth- homebirth, in birth centers and hospitals; experienced in different types of births (vaginal, cesarean, and vaginal after a C-section) and familiar with many unexpected situations in births. And I am sure that any childbirth can be sacred and beautiful.
To find your own doula is like to feel a close connect, it can be only “from heart to heart, from soul to soul”. I am on call 24/7. I make women to be confident, to believe in their power and to get through the birth in a harmony, being happy! I am ready to help them and their families in these unforgettable moments and to be a part of this sacramental process.
I live out every new childbirth with a woman, and it is so wonderful!

Renata Rosa (doula)

My name is Renata Rosa. I am originally from Brazil and I have been blessed to live in the USA since 2005. In addition to speaking English, I also have the privilege of speaking Portuguese. I fell in love with births and postpartum care in 2010, when I provided support to my friend in the birth and postpartum care of her first child. But it wasn’t until 2013, when I had my son and a amazing support from my doula, that I understood the impact of that kind of support for a family in such an important moment of their life. I officially became a birth and postpartum doula in January of 2017, receiving training through DONA.I strive to be a warm and supportive presence as parents create a birth they will always remember. I am comfortable and experienced with whatever birthing environment you choose to have. When I am not doulaing, I absolutely love spending time with my family and learning new things.
