Shannon Evans LM

Shannon is a Licensed Midwife and a mother of 4 beautiful children. Shannon and the Natural BirthWorks team have been working together for years and Shannon will be providing any back up coverage for our birth center.

Shannon is a Miami native and a Florida licensed midwife (MW 281). She is also a proud wife and mother to four children, all born naturally, in birth centers and at home. After experiencing the care of midwives through her first two pregnancies, along with the challenges that came after, she recognized her calling to support other women on their own journeys through motherhood. She returned to her “birthing home” to study midwifery at the Miami Maternity Center and the International School of Midwifery, where she graduated in 2011. Upon completing midwifery school, Shannon honed her breastfeeding knowledge and skills as a lactation educator with the Miami-Dade County WIC program. She feels extremely lucky to have learned from an array of talented women: midwives, lactation consultants, and perhaps most importantly, the women she has served. Shannon also loves to share her experiences in cloth diapering, babywearing, and attachment parenting. In her “past life”, Shannon has also been a science and social studies teacher, and research assistant in the Bahamas, where she met and married her husband. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Ethnic Studies. Her youngest child (and only boy!) was born at home with the P3 team in November, 2013.

 Massage Therapist/Sacred Blessings

prenatal massage

Jennifer Mullins LMT

Therapist since 2001. I trained in Miami at Educating Hands School
of Massagehttp://www.educatinghands.com/. My Mother Massage®
training was with Elaine Stillerman of New York who has been a pioneer
in the prenatal massage industry. She has written many books on this
subject matter while still maintaining her practice in New York City for
over 30 years http://mothermassage.net.
I later trained with the late Crystal Loiacono in Infant Massage to instruct the
massage techniques and educate parents on the life long benefits of bonding
with their babies through massage.

I owe the wonderful experiences of naturally birthing my two sons and my daughter as well as my education in massage, it opened up my world to one that is positive, empowering, peaceful and natural. Bonding between parents and babies begins in utero, that is where I come in!

I would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you
the best guidance, education and support throughout this new and special journey.

dawnadoula
Dawna Doula

Dawna is  a full time birth doula, an internationally certified Childbirth Educator, Birthing From Within mentor/doula, Reiki practitioner, Newborn Care Specialist and Mother of a teenage boy. Dawna draws upon her knowledge in childbirth, motherhood,  education, and continuous trainings in childbirth education to bring forth a positive birth experience for you, as you define it.  She comes with great experience and a couple hundred birth stories to share.

In 2010, she began her journey to become a certified birth doula through DONA (Doulas of North America) and never looked back. Dawna is familiar and comfortable with the local hospitals, birthing centers and midwives that attend home births.  Dawna’s beliefs about birth resonate with that of Birthing From Within’s guiding principles that birth is a right of passage and not a medical event, even when medicine is involved. Dawna is an advocate for Women’s Rights in Childbirth and the Mother Baby Friendly Initiative. Her deepest passion falls with guiding and supporting  our community women who are seeking to give birth by VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesearan) . Dawna is a US Army veteran. She spend her time serving our country as a field medic in South Korea.

Emotionally, Dawna connects to her clients and their entire team (family, providers, nursing staff) on a level that provides comfort (even in unexpected situations). She is respectful, professional and non- judgmental of the care givers you have chosen, the decisions you have made to custom fit your needs and desires, and of your space. She will help you create and protect your birthing space.  Dawna approaches each journey with the belief that your birth experience will empower you as a mom, and change you as a woman. Most importantly to her, she fully understands what transitioning  from a woman to  a mother is all about. She is a mom too!

Lisa Raynor

Lisa Raynor

My name is Lisa Raynor. I live in Coral Springs, Florida with my husband and three amazing boys, ages 17, 14 and 9. I have lived in South Florida almost my entire life and moved to the Coral Springs/Parkland area in 1999. My boys are very involved in sports and I’ve been a baseball, soccer, and bowling mom for years! I also love party planning and DIY crafts! I am a Pinterest addict for sure! I also love all things baby and pregnancy-related and reading is my favorite pastime.

For as long as I can recall, I have had a passion for helping moms during pregnancies and caring for their newborns. I know from experience that this is a very exciting and sometimes overwhelming time. I decided I wanted to become a childbirth and postpartum doula after the birth of my second son in 2001. I have spent the past 14 years learning all I can about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care for moms.  I have recently finished my doula training through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professionals Association) and look forward to a long and rewarding career being a doula in Coral Springs and surrounding areas.

Deciding to become a childbirth and postpartum doula was one of the best decisions of my life.  I love being a doula. It is the most rewarding job helping expectant moms and new families. I would love to get to know you more and help you have the birth you desire.
